Rekindling the Spark in Big Data

This talk will take a closer look at the Spark framework, review some of the core concepts like DataFrame, RDDs, & streaming, and examine how it actually supports a variety of data sets and sources. This understanding will serve as foundation for the following workshop.

In this workshop, we look at the use case of sentiment analysis over a Twitter stream and how Spark helps us perform real-time analytics on a continuous stream of data. Familiarity with the Java technology stack will be a key requirement for this session.
